🇺🇸 General election: Polls are open today until 7:30 p.m.
On the ballot:
◼️ The big transportation referendum in Mecklenburg County
◼️ City/town elections for city/town councils and mayors
◼️ 6 seats on Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education
Today’s the day that Mecklenburg voters will finally weigh in on an ambitious $25B plan designed to improve transit and transportation, through an increase in the local sales tax.
Voters will also elect city and town councils and mayors throughout the region — people who will help determine policies on important local topics such as growth, housing, public safety and taxes.
There are also six seats up for grabs on the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education. Today’s winners will oversee the policy and budget for a district with 140,000+ students.
