UNC Charlotte plans to offer a new major in artificial intelligence beginning next year, a move that would make it one of the first in the state to offer a full-fledged academic program on that technology.
In paperwork filed earlier this year with the UNC System, UNC Charlotte said the new major would help tap into growing employer demand for students with skills “for a range of careers in AI and machine learning.”
