We’ve got the info you need on local, statewide and Congressional races in Mecklenburg in 2024. There are a lot of them! But we will break them down for you, with helpful summaries of the candidates and their backgrounds, plus questionnaires.
From races for county commissioner to state legislator to governor, we’re supplying the information you need, including links to a variety of sources that will help inform your vote.
Important dates:
March 5: General election. Polls open 6:30 a.m to 7:30 p.m.

Unaffiliateds: Which ballot to choose? Hmm, tough one. If you care mostly about the presidential election, Joe Biden is the only candidate for Democrats, while there are 7 candidates on the Republican ballot (only 2 — Donald Trump and Nikki Haley — are actively campaigning). There are plenty of intriguing statewide and local match-ups in the Republican and Democratic primaries. The Libertarian ballot has 10 candidates for president and 2 for governor.
