As it opens a new airport lounge, Delta appears poised to add flights from CLT; ‘We have room to grow’

A glittery new airport club appears to signal that Delta Air Lines intends to grow in Charlotte.

The club, Delta’s 56th, opened Wednesday morning. It will be open daily from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m.

It means that Delta, which carries about 2% of the airport’s passengers, has the airport’s newest club, occupying the entire second floor of the airport’s newest, most attractive concourse (Delta has seven gates on the nine-gate AA concourse, which opened in September). Airport traffic, which totaled 53.4 million in 2023, was up nearly 12% through October.
