You Ask, We Answer: What’s the story with liquor sales at the new Costco?

It’s time once again for “You Ask, We Answer,” the intuitively named Charlotte Ledger feature in which you (the reader) submit inquiries about things, and we (The Ledger) use our crackerjack reporting skills to supply new information about those things.

No question is too big or too small, and no topic too spicy to be off-limits (although many have to do with Charlotte’s growth and development).

Today’s question comes from Ledger reader Christopher, who saw our coverage of the opening of the new Costco on U.S. 521 in Indian Land and asks:

How can there be reporting of the new Costco opening in South Carolina without including something about selling booze? That’s one key difference vs. the N.C. stores. What else do they have available that may be different?

Thanks for asking, Christopher.

Costco and liquor? The question conjures images of 10-gallon bottles of vodka, or a 6-pack of Kirkland tequila bottles wrapped in plastic.
