Drought improves across Mecklenburg; meeting Monday to evaluate water restrictions

Rain this week helped lessen the drought, with all of Mecklenburg County listed as “moderate” — the lowest category of drought — down from “severe,” “extreme” and “exceptional” in recent months.

And local lake levels on Thursday were at multi-month highs, though still below normal conditions.
