Charlotte FC will carry an eight-game winning streak into its Sept. 12 showdown with Inter Miami and Lionel Messi — but not its head coach. Coach Dean Smith confirmed on XM Radio’s Counter Attack show this week that he has received a one-game suspension for accumulating three yellow cards and will have to sit out the highly anticipated game at Bank of America Stadium.
