110 East lands anchor tenant: First Horizon Corp. to take top 3 floors, put name and logo atop building

Memphis-based bank First Horizon Corp. said Thursday that it will take the top three floors of 110 East, the new 24-story office tower near the corner of South and East boulevards in South End.

The move gives 110 East an anchor tenant, and for First Horizon, it allows the bank to consolidate its other Charlotte locations near the center of South End — which has obvious advantages for employee recruitment and retention.

Whispers reported last month that First Horizon was looking at 110 East and had even examined what its logo might look like on the side of the building.
