Ardrey Kell student sues CMS after being hit in the head during shot put practice

A former Ardrey Kell High School student is suing Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, saying he was hit in the head by a metal ball thrown by an unsupervised member of the school’s track team who was practicing the shot put.

The suit alleges that on May 26, 2021, student Jordan Glover was throwing a football with a friend on an Ardrey Kell practice field. But Glover didn’t realize that the track and field team “was conducting an unsupervised practice session” on the field, too, the suit says.
