In a credit card shakeup sure to affect the wallets of many Charlotte residents, American Airlines said on Thursday that it is ending its relationship with Barclays Bank, one of the two banks that issues American’s frequent flier credit cards.

Instead, Charlotte’s dominant airline said, Citi will be the sole credit card provider beginning in 2026.
